The Charles Duncan McIver Award recognizes North Carolinians who have rendered unusually distinguished public service to the state or nation. The Young Alumni Award, presented to alumni 40 years of age and younger when nominated, recognizes exceptional achievement and significant contribution to the recipient's profession or community/society or university. The recipient must exemplify outstanding professional and personal development either through traditional channels or innovative approaches.
