Something to talk about

Each person who has been in contact with UNCG has their own story. A story about how a professor changed them. A story about the friendships formed on campus that last to this day. A story about how UNCG prepared them to go on to do things beyond their wildest imagination. Share your story. We'd love to hear about it. Read more about how you can watch videos of other people's stories and submit your own.

The advocates

When UNCG received the disappointing news that its proposal to create a pharmacy school was put aside in favor of a UNC Chapel Hill satellite, members of the Alumni Association got to work. The result is the new Spartan Legislative Network (SLN), which is designed to pull together people who can support and advocate for UNCG in ways the university itself cannot. Read more about the SLN and how you can get involved.

License to thrill

We all have Spartan pride. And now we want to show it on the road. The UNCG Alumni Association is working to get a Spartan plate, featuring the UNCG rising shield, on cars all across North Carolina. All it takes is 300 applications. We can do that, right? Read more about how you can sign up to get a UNCG license plate.

New LGBTQA affinity group launched

The Alumni Association works with groups of alumni with shared interests — such as Greek organizations, athletics, specific majors, etc. Now they are working with a new group — the UNCG LGBTQA affinity group. Read more about the group and learn how you can participate.

Make your own good news

You won't see a lot of good news on the internet or in newspapers. It's a proven fact: it just doesn't sell. Good news doesn't capture attention and it doesn't sell ads. But this is the season for Good News — Easter, Passover, spring, new beginnings, new life... So let's make our own good news and look at the world in a positive way — glass half full. Read more from Kathleen Martinek, former UNCG alumni career counselor.

Alumni Association Announcements & Upcoming Events

Celebrate spring by coming out in support of UNCG night at the Greensboro Grasshoppers game April 19. Or flex your political muscles by coming to the federal and state candidates forum April 25 in the Virginia Dare Room. If you happen to be in New York City on May 7, you can attend a summer send-off for incoming students, visit with Chancellor Linda P. Brady at an alumni and friends gathering or support our new theatre graduates at their performance showcase at the Mint Theater Company. Learn about these events and more.
