UNCG Guarantee is a remarkable program that provides academic and financial support to help academically gifted, financially disadvantaged in-state students graduate from UNCG in four years with little or no debt. These promising students are paired with mentors who can lend invaluable guidance along the way. UNCG students got a first-hand look at entrepreneurship during the second annual Entrepreneur Day, held March 26, when dozens of leaders in the business community spent the day teaching students about the path to success. Dr. Norman Anderson, a Greensboro native who has served as chief executive officer of the American Psychological Association for the past 11 years, will deliver this spring's commencement address. In late March, the UNCG wind ensemble officially premiered The Frozen Cathedral, a composition written by composer John Mackey in memory of J.P. Locke, eldest son of UNCG director of bands John Locke. J.P. died in Alaska in 2002 at the age of 23, and the piece written in his honor was described as a triumph.
