Spring is upon us, which means it's time for generations of Woman's College alumnae to return to campus, eager to see good friends and share stories about the past, present and future. The rolling hills send back the sound of our triumphant song… Greensboro's rolling hills will be alive with the sounds of some of the nation's top collegiate bands next week as the UNCG School of Music, Theatre and Dance hosts the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) National Conference. Former Chancellor William Bill Moran, who served from 1979-1994, left a major mark on campus, overseeing millions of dollars in capital improvements and fostering a tenfold increase in the university's endowment. Reed, whose latest book is Dixie Bohemia: A French Quarter Circle in the 1920s, is the William Rand Kenan Jr. professor emeritus of sociology at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has written widely on the idiosyncrasies of the South.
