Spring 2010

Sisterhood of service

In 1915, the local newspaper wasn't in favor of giving women the vote. And neither was the speaker scheduled to deliver the commencement address at Woman's College (now UNCG). Putting intelligence to work

“In the future” is probably a phrase Dr. Nancy Green has heard a lot. Especially as a computer scientist who works in the area of artificial intelligence. Read more about how computers can help ease the workload of genetic counselors.

Model students

It may be the 16th year UNCG has participated in the Southern Regional Model United Nations, but the experience is always unique. Read more about our how our students pull together a variety of skills to simulate working for the UN.

Taking science to the classes

Students at three High Point schools will be getting more than your average science lessons in the coming year, thanks to a $2.8 million, five-year National Science Foundation grant. Read more about how our graduate students will be interacting with students in the classroom.
