
Jim Frabutt
Dr. Jim
Frabutt has been promoted to deputy director of the
Center for Youth, Family and Community Partnerships.
Frabutt, who earned his doctorate in human development
and family studies at UNCG, had been the center's
associate director. His new duties include additional
responsibility for planning, overseeing grants, managing
graduate assistants and representing the center at
meetings.
His research interests include parenting and children’s
social development; family development in racial and
ethnic minority families; juvenile justice and mental
health; and university-community partnerships. His
violence prevention work includes collaboration with
the nationwide Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative,
Guilford County Schools, Greensboro and High Point
violent crime task forces, and the Center for Community
Safety at Winston-Salem State University.
