Dr. Stanley Deetz
The
UNCG Department of Communication will host a communications
expert as part of its colloquium series.
Dr. Stanley Deetz will give a speech entitled “Otherness,
The Politics of Experience and the Hope for Stakeholder
Collaborations” at 2 p.m. April 18 in the auditorium
of Elliott University Center. The event is free and
open to the public.
Deetz’s lecture will consider how collaborative
communication based on valuing diversity can promote
the productivity of organizational decision-making
processes.
A professor of communication at the University
of Colorado at Boulder, Deetz has also taught
at Rutgers University and specializes in organizational
communication from a critical, cultural and philosophic
perspective. He is the author of “Leading Organizations
through Transitions,” “Management Research,”
several other books and hundreds of articles.
