An MFA thesis concert will consider the phases of life: childhood, adolescence and adulthood.

Ginny Skinner Haynes, an MFA candidate, will perform her thesis concert, “Phases,” at 8 p.m. April 8 and 9 in the UNCG Dance Theatre on Walker Avenue at Kenilworth Street. Admission is $10 for the general public, $7 for seniors and children and $5 for UNCG students.

The performance will depict the phases of life in three parts: childhood, adolescence and adulthood in six pieces. Haynes will perform “Loss of Blood. Throwing Up Trees,” a piece choreographed by NC School for the Arts faculty member Sean Sullivan. She will also perform “On Again,” choreographed by UNCG faculty member Gerri Houlihan, as well as “Glass Panes.” Haynes choreographed three of the pieces: “White Clouds of Imagination,” “Infection: Pathway of Transformation” and “Timid Love.”

Haynes is a performer, choreographer and teacher who has been involved in dance for 22 years. She holds a BFA in dance performance and choreography from Columbia College in her native South Carolina and has worked with Nicholas Leichter, Jan Van Dyke, B.J. Sullivan and Sean Curran. She has performed with the Power Company, a Columbia-based dance group, and has been a guest artist with The Collective and John Gamble Dance Theatre. She will graduate in May with her MFA in dance performance and choreography from UNCG.

Tickets are available through the UNCG Box Office by calling (336) 334-4849. For more information on this or other dance performances, call the UNCG Department of Dance at (336) 334- 5570.
