Who defines
what is moral? How does morality intersect with issues
of social justice? What are the implications of morality
when mixed with power and politics?
These questions and others will be explored 4 to 7
p.m. April 7 in the first program of the Cultural
Colloquium Series at The University of North Carolina
at Greensboro. Free and open to the public, the event
in the Virginia Dare Room of the Alumni House is sponsored
by the Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural
Foundations in the School of Education.
“Questioning Morality: A Community Discussion”
will feature a panel and small-group discussions.
The panelists are the Rev. Nelson Johnson of Beloved
Community Center and the Truth and Reconciliation
Commission, Chris Bauman of Communities Helping All
Neighbors Gain Empowerment, Tania Castillero of Catholic
Social Services of High Point, and Dr. Regina Silverthorne
of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications
at N.C. A&T.
Professors are invited to bring their classes. Professors
who plan to attend with students should RSVP to graduate
student D.P.
