Stanley Frank led the School of Nursing Advisory Board from 1989 to 2005.
A longtime leader and friend of the UNCG School of Nursing is stepping down from his post.
Stanley Frank, who has led the school’s advisory board for 16 years, is stepping down as chairman.
The school has named John A. Schrull to fill the vacancy left by Frank, a business man who owned and led Carolina By-Products and who also served on the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority.
In April 1989, the UNCG Board of Trustees approved the establishment of the advisory board and Stanley Frank stepped in to be chairman, leading the school in its academic and community service efforts.
“Frank has been an avid and wonderful supporter of the School of Nursing, and has advocated the school’s link to the community,” said Dr. Lynne Pearcey, dean of the school. “He assisted in recruiting new community members to the board and led the board in addressing health care issues and providing the community with information about the School of Nursing. The school is grateful for his years of service.”
John Schrull is the new chairman of the School of Nursing Advisory Board.
Schrull, the new chairman, is president of the Schrull Group LLC, a health care management consulting firm that he founded in 1992.
He has been a member of the board since 1989, when he was CEO of Wesley Long Community Hospital.
