• “Rip,” a work choreographed by Nicole Plainte, will include four solos and conclude with a group resolution.
• Jamal Ari Black’s “Spectacles of Color” examines issues facing the homosexual black male community. The dance explores confusion, self identity, unification and acceptance.
• Commenting on issues facing contemporary women, “embodied identity: woman as…” by Lauren Guy McAlpin considers socialized gender expectations of women.
• Ashley West’s “125 Spencer Ave.” This colorful, campy piece is described by West as a “wonderfully weird mix of theatre and dance.”
