UNCG's Spring Departmental Dance Concert highlights work by dance faculty and graduate students.
The concert will be at 8 p.m. April 21 and 22, and at 2 p.m. April 22 in the UNCG Dance Theatre. Tickets are $5 for UNCG students, $7 for other students and seniors, and $10 general admission.
The concert program will include:
• Two pieces choreographed by Assistant Professor Duane Cyrus: “Giselle’s Wedding,” with a cast of 15 dance majors, and “Atmosphere for Missing You,” performed by research assistants Teran Brown, Lindsay Leb, Ashley Lloyd, Thomas Newkirk, Aymen Robertson and Gini Sowards.
• “United We Stand / Divided We Fall / separately we rescue / together we fail,” choreographed by Assistant Professor B.J. Sullivan will be performed by undergraduate and graduate students.
• Dionne Griffiths will present “Rediscovering My True Self,” in fulfillment of degree requirements for a master of arts degree in choreography. Griffiths will dance along with two undergraduate students, Camille Lattimore and Trinada Oliver.
• “everness: a beginner’s guide,” choreographed by Erin Leigh, includes video by Leigh. This work is presented in fulfillment of requirements for an master of fine arts in choreography.
