The UNCG poet in residence will give a reading from her latest book of poetry.
Linda Gregg, whose work has appeared in numerous national publications, will read at 8 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Faculty Center on College Avenue. Sponsored by the MFA Writing Program and the Greensboro Review, this event is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception and book signing.
The reading celebrates the release of Gregg’s most recent book of poetry, “In the Middle Distance.”
Her other books include “Things and Flesh,” “Chosen by the Lion,” “The Sacraments of Desire,” “Alma,” “Eight Poems,” and “Too Bright to See.” Her work has also appeared in The New Yorker, The Paris Review and Atlantic Monthly. She was a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts grant, a Whiting Writer’s Award and a Sara Teasdale Award.
Born in Suffern, N.Y. and raised in Marin County, Cal., she holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from San Francisco State University. She has taught at the University of Iowa, Columbia University, Princeton University and the University of California at Berkley.
