Students Complete Honors Program for 2005-06

By , University Relations

The following students completed studies in UNCG's Honors Program during the 2005-06 year.

The Honors Program offers qualified students an opportunity to pursue a unique course of study that is intellectually stimulating and challenging. It is designed to provide a strong base in the liberal arts leading to more specialized and independent work as students work toward undergraduate degrees.

In the program, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 of a possible 4.0, must show mastery of a foreign language and complete an international travel/study experience.

Participants can graduate with three different honors designations: full university, disciplinary and general-education. They must take a minimum of 14 hours in honors courses, including three honors core seminars, and complete a senior honors project. When students complete the honors program, the accomplishment is recorded in their permanent transcripts. Mare detailed information is available at the web site of the Lloyd International Honors Program, http://www.uncg.edu/hss/programs/index.html.

The students were recognized at the Honors Convocation on May 3. Listed with their majors and senior honors projects, the students are:

Full University Honors - The Full University Honors Program allows students to do high quality honors work in both general-education and major coursework during their entire undergraduate time at UNCG.
