UNCG will sponsor a concert by Switchfoot, a San Diego-based alt rock band that’s already racking up gold records.
Switchfoot, appearing with the band Athlete, will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 2 in War Memorial Auditorium. Sponsored by the UNCG Campus Activities Board, tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for UNCG students.
The band comes to Greensboro as part of its national tour to promote its latest release, “Nothing is Sound,” a CD that went gold within a month of its release in September.
Rolling Stone magazine hailed the band’s “high-voltage buzz-saw riffs and irresistible melodic hooks” while Billboard commented that “Switchfoot has a gift for delivering hard-charging rock anthems with a lyrical depth and musical integrity that should sustain a long, successful career.”
