GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Cyrus Art Production dance and theater company will make its North Carolina debut at 8 p.m. Nov. 3 and 4 in the UNCG Dance Theater.
The event will include guests from the Martha Graham Dance Company, American Ballet Theatre and Dance Theatre of Harlem who will perform the classical ballet pas de deux “Le Corsaire” and Martha Graham’s “Lamentation.”
Faculty member Duane Cyrus will perform “The Mask That Grins and Lies,” which he choreographed; and two UNCG dance students will perform works featuring the music of Glen Velez and James Brown.
Cyrus, an assistant professor in the Department of Dance, has performed with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Martha Graham Dance Company, “The Lion King” (original London cast), “Carousel” (U.S. tour) as well as directing domestic and international tours with Cyrus Art Production.
Tickets cost $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and children, and $5 for UNCG students. The Dance Theater is at Walker Avenue and Kenilworth Street on the university campus. Tickets are available from the UNCG Box Office, (336) 334-4849.
