GREENSBORO, N.C. -
Contemporary gospel music along with dance and mime performances will be blended together during “Explorations into African American Music,” a celebratory event sponsored by the African American Studies Program.
The performance, which is the inaugural event in a series, will take place on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. at the Elliott University Center at UNCG.
Featured performers will include the St. James Presbyterian Church Praise Team, led by Director Marvin Wright.
“The campus and community will enjoy an evening full of songs and performances that continue a vital legacy in the history of African American music,” said Dr. Frank Woods, director of the African American Studies Program.
