GREENSBORO, N.C. - Internationally-recognized economist, global financial strategist and economic forecaster Dr. Allen Sinai, will lecture on “Seismic Shifts in the United States, Global Economies and Markets" on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 4:30 p.m. in Room 160 of the Bryan School of Business and Economics at UNCG.

Sinai is chief global economist, strategist and president of Decision Economics Inc. a global economics, policy, strategy and advisory firm that serves more than 300 financial institutions, corporations, governments and individuals worldwide.

Sinai is regarded as a pioneer in developing information systems approaches to analyzing economies and financial markets. He developed the Sinai-Boston Large-Scale Quarterly Macroeconomic Model of the United States – one of the largest models of the U.S. economy and financial markets.

In addition to holding teaching and research positions at institutions ranging from MIT to New York University, Sinai has appeared on numerous radio and television programs such as “Wall Street Week,” “Face the Nation,” and the “Today” show. Sinai has lectured throughout the United States, as well as in the Far East, Western Europe, China and Latin America.

Time magazine noted that Sinai’s “vivid commentaries” have helped to dispel the notion of economics as a “dismal science.”

Sinai holds a PhD in economics from Northwestern University. He is the past president of the American Economic and Finance Association and a member of the Aspen Institute, Italia.
