Rebecca "Becci" Menghini has assumed her new duties as director of alumni affairs and executive director of the Alumni Association at UNCG. Menghini comes from the Wisconsin Alumni Association of The University of Wisconsin at Madison.
The appointment, effective Sept. 5, 2006, was announced by Dr. Patricia W. Stewart, vice chancellor for university advancement.
“We are delighted that Becci Menghini is joining UNCG as director of alumni affairs,” Stewart said. “She will bring a great deal of experience to the job in areas such as programming, outreach, marketing and staff development, and her expertise will enable the university to better serve its 90,000 alumni. I look forward to working with her and the contributions she will make at UNCG.”
Menghini has spent the past seven years working in almost every aspect of alumni relations for UW-M. Most recently, she served as senior director of campus relations, overseeing campus alumni outreach efforts. She believes in connecting alumni with students so that students understand their future role as alumni.
“The association needs to be an integral part of campus,” she said.
Carol Matney, president of the UNCG Alumni Association, is pleased with the choice. “She is dynamic and has diverse experience in alumni affairs,” she said. “Her ideas are good and her energy apparent.”
A 1996 graduate of Dickinson College in Carlisle, Penn., she earned her masters in educational administration in 1999 from the University of Wisconsin. She has been active with United Way, Community Service Commission, Leadership Greater Madison, Wisconsin Special Olympics and as a Dickinson College alumni volunteer.
