Interested in expanding your understanding of the political climates in our state and our nation? The political science department and the Center for Legislative Studies at UNCG kick off their fall lecture series Sept. 26, 2006.
All lectures are free and open to the public. All will be held in UNCG’s Weatherspoon Art Museum Auditorium. Free parking is available off Tate Street behind the museum.
The first lecture, a panel discussion entitled “Elections 2006: Change, Continuity or Ambiguity?,” begins at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26. Dr. David Rohde, a political science professor at Duke University, will be the featured panelist alongside UNCG political science professors Dr. David Holian and Dr. Charles Prysby.
Subsequent lectures in the series will include:
•7:30 p.m., Oct. 18 – “Tar Heel Politics: Is 2006 a Pivotal Election?” – A panel of journalists will discuss state congressional elections.
•7:30 p.m., Nov. 14 – “Winners, Losers … and Voters” – Dr. Paul Herrnson, director of the University of Maryland’s Center for American Politics and Citizenship, will discuss perspectives on the U.S. congressional election results.
