UNCG will host a panel discussion Oct. 18 on North Carolina’s Congressional elections.
A panel of journalists will discuss “Tar Heel Politics: Is 2006 a Pivotal Election?” beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Weatherspoon Art Museum Auditorium. Panelists will include Kerra Bolton of the Asheville Citizen-Times, Rob Christensen of the Raleigh News & Observer, Paul Johnson, High Point Enterprise and Ferrel Guillory, director of the Program on Southern Politics, Media and Public Life at UNC-Chapel Hill.
The event is part of the free, public series, “Elections 2006: Change, Continuity or Ambiguity?” sponsored by the Department of Political Science and the Center for Legislative Studies. Free parking is available off Tate Street behind the museum.
The series concludes Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. with a session on “Winners, Losers … and Voters,” also held in the Weatherspoon Auditorium. Speaking will be Dr. Paul Herrnson, director of the University of Maryland’s Center for American Politics and Citizenship, who will discuss perspectives on the U.S. Congressional election results.
