“Trio,” a short verse play by Dr. Mark Smith-Soto, director of The Center for Creative Writing in the Arts at UNCG, will be presented at noon Oct. 4 at the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center downtown as part of the Greensboro Public Library’s One City, One Book project.

The play will be presented in the Cultural Arts Center’s Green Hill Gallery. Dr. Smith-Soto will speak about the process of writing the play after he visited the Holocaust Memorial Museum.

“Trio” was produced by Theatre Orange of the Arts Center of Carrboro and Chapel Hill as one of ten winners of their 2003 “Ten by Ten in the Triangle” festival competition. It was published in the anthology “Thirty-five by Ten.”

The Cultural Arts Center is located at 200 North Davie Street. The program is free and open to the public, and brown bag lunches are welcome. Refreshments will be provided.

Dr. Smith-Soto, an award-winning poet, is a professor of Romance languages at UNCG.
