GREENSBORO, NC – Dr. Andrew Reynolds, associate professor of political science at UNC Chapel Hill, will speak at UNCG Wednesday, March 21, as part of UNCG’s spring lecture series on “Democracy and Security in the Middle East.”
Reynolds’ presentation, “Constitution Making in Afghanistan and Iraq,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Weatherspoon Art Museum Auditorium. Free parking is available behind the museum on Tate Street.
Reynolds specializes in democratization, constitutional design and electoral politics. He has served as a consultant on issues of electoral and constitutional design in over a dozen countries, including Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan and Yemen.
He has worked for the United Nations, the U.S. State Department, the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance and the International Foundation for Election Systems. He is currently working on a book titled “First Do No Harm: Applying the Lessons of Medicine to the Art of Constitutional Design.”
The Center for Legislative Studies and the Department of Political Science at UNCG are sponsoring the series. Co-sponsors are the Kohler Fund, the Lloyd International Honors College, the International/Global Studies Program and the Political Awareness Club.
