“Wrightsville Sound” by Keith Buckner.
GREENSBORO, NC – In addition to being a computer support technician at UNCG’s Jackson Library, Keith Buckner is a painter, musician and writer. A selection of his paintings – “The Art of Keith Buckner” – is on display in the first-floor reading room of Jackson Library through Aug. 1.
He holds a BFA and MFA in art from UNCG, where he won the Chancellor’s Award for graduate students and the Herbert & Virginia Howard Scholarship.
His work has been shown in the 1984 North Carolina Artists Exhibition at the N.C. Museum of Art; three Art on Paper exhibitions at the Weatherspoon Art Museum; various shows at the Green Hill Center for North Carolina Art; and other shows at both public and private galleries.
He recently recorded his own singer-songwriter CD and plays in three bands: swing band Martha and the Moodswingers, folk group The Alley Rabbits and old-time group The Nutbush Ramblers.
