GREENSBORO, NC – Spring Fling fever is in the air again at UNCG. And an April 27 concert by 112, a Grammy Award-winning R&B quartet, should send that mercury soaring.

112, from Atlanta, was initially signed to Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy record label and now records on the Def Soul label. They won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group in 1997 for “I'll Be Missing You.” They will perform at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center.

Spring Fling 2007 begins Thursday, April 19, and winds down Saturday, April 28, with a student step show at the coliseum. Other highlights are an April 20 fashion show by the student fashion troupe Cliché and an April 26 performance by Vic Henley, a southern comic who co-authored a book with Jeff Foxworthy.

UNCG students can buy tickets for 112 and the step show at the box office in the Elliott University Center, 336-334-4849. The general public can purchase tickets through the coliseum box office, 888-397-3100, 1921 W. Lee St. For more information about Spring Fling 2007, contact Curtis Tarver at 336-334-5800 or cwtarver@uncg.edu.

The annual festival is organized by the Campus Activities Board, part of the Office of Student Life. This year’s theme is “This is the Remix!” Tarver, assistant director for programs in Student Life, said he is excited that the event will match the energy of Spring Fling 2006.

“I’m excited about the fact that we’ve been able to continue the momentum,” he said. “I’m excited that the Campus Activities Board can keep providing students and the greater community with an event of this level.”
