The Moscow Festival Ballet Performing "Sleeping Beauty."
GREENSBORO, NC – The fairy tale masterpiece ballet “Sleeping Beauty” will be performed by the internationally acclaimed Moscow Festival Ballet.
The performance, part of UNCG's Concert & Lecture Series, will be held on Thursday, March 22, at 7 p.m. at the Carolina Theatre in downtown Greensboro.
Based on the Brothers Grimm story of a princess who sleeps for 100 years before being awakened by a prince’s kiss, “Sleeping Beauty” is one of classical ballet’s most famous repertoires. The ballet premiered in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1890 with a score composed by Tchaikovsky.
Founded in 1989 by principal dancer Sergei Radchenko, the Moscow Festival Ballet combines the highest classical elements of the famed Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies in a new, independent company.
Tickets are $34, $29 and $24. Seniors, children under 12 and students receive $2 discount. UNCG student tickets are $9, $8 and $6.
