UNCG Faculty Members Receive Teaching Awards

GREENSBORO, NC – Faculty members at UNCG have received awards for teaching excellence for the 2006-07 year.
The winners each received a $1,000 prize during events in April, May or at ceremonies over the May 11-12 commencement weekend. Funding for the awards is provided by UNC General Administration, which allocates money for all 16 campuses in the UNC system to reward faculty members for excellence in teaching within their academic colleges and professional schools.
The winners are:
- College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Alexandra Schultheis, assistant professor, Department of English.
- School of Education, Dr. Kerri Richardson, assistant professor, Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
- School of Health and Human Performance, Dr. Pamela L. Kocher Brown, associate professor, Department of Exercise and Sport Science.
- School of Nursing, Dr. Tracy Bartlett, assistant professor, Department of Community Practice.
- School of Human Environmental Sciences, Dr. Heather M. Helms, associate professor, Department of Human Development and Family Studies.
- Bryan School of Business and Economics, Dr. Vidyaranya Gargeya, professor, Department of Information Systems/Operations Management and MBA Program director, and James Milanese, lecturer, Department of Accounting and Finance.
- School of Music, Dr. Welborn E. Young, assistant professor of choral conducting.
