GREENSBORO, NC - Chancellor Patricia A. Sullivan is continuing her recovery from successful emergency surgery for a perforated ulcer that she had on November 1
Although a release date from Duke University Hospital is yet to be determined, her doctor is very pleased with her progress.
Chancellor Sullivan said she wants to express her thanks and appreciation for all of the notes, flowers, and good wishes she has received. She is very touched by the outpouring of concern for both her and Charles, and is looking forward to returning to campus as soon as possible.

Dr. Sullivan’s executive staff will continue to conduct the daily activities of UNCG under the leadership of Dr. David H. Perrin, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
Sullivan became UNCG’s first woman chancellor on Jan. 1, 1995, and is the institution’s ninth chief executive. She is currently the senior chancellor in the UNC system. She came to Greensboro from Texas Woman’s University, where she was vice president for academic affairs and had served a year as interim president.
