GREENSBORO, NC – TV and film actor Garrett M. Brown will host a collaborative workshop for writers, actors and directors Sunday, Nov. 18, at UNCG.
The workshop, offered by the Center for Creative Writing in the Arts and the departments of Theatre and Broadcasting/Cinema, runs from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Faculty Center. It is free and open to the public. Participants will create five-minute plays within 45 minutes and perform them.
Brown is most widely known for his five-year run on the NBC series “Sisters” and his performance as John Candy’s brother Bob in “Uncle Buck.” His recent films include “Kiss the Bride,” to debut in winter 2008; “Gridiron Gang”; “Fun with Dick and Jane”; and the independent feature “ARC.”
He has appeared on such television series as “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” and “NYPD Blue,” as well as multiple episodes of “The Shield,” “The OC,” “Roswell,” “Boston Public” and “The Practice.” Brown currently appears on the HBO series “Big Love.”
Active in theater for many years in both New York and Los Angeles, he is a long-time member of Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York and recently served as artistic director of its LA affiliate, EST, The LA Project.
