Pearcey Elected Vice President of Council on Collegiate Education for Nursing

GREENSBORO, NC - Dr. Lynne Pearcey, dean of the School of Nursing, has been elected vice president of the Southern Regional Education Board’s Council on Collegiate Education for Nursing.


Pearcey’s term as vice president will run from 2007-2009. She has previously chaired the council’s workforce diversity and program committees.


SREB, based in Atlanta, encompasses 16 southern states and the District of Columbia. The council promotes cooperative regional planning and supports initiatives to strengthen nursing education and nursing research in colleges and universities.

The council’s mission includes recruiting and graduating students now underrepresented in the field and fostering faculty development.
