GREENSBORO, NC – UNCG’s Gerontology Program will host a lunch Thursday, Nov. 8, featuring Deborah Russell, AARP’s director of workforce issues.
The Business Roundtable Luncheon on Mature Workforce Issues will be 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in Elliott University Center’s Alexander Room. Russell will introduce AARP’s new Workforce Assessment Tool, an 80-question survey designed to help employers estimate future workforce needs and manage talent wisely.
AARP is holding these events around the country to bring business executives, business academics and AARP leaders together to discuss issues facing older workers. Other sites include The Wharton School, USC, Boston College, Harvard, CUNY/Hunter and Miami.
The Workforce Assessment Tool is a free survey that takes about 30 minutes to complete and is used to automatically create a report, which is delivered via email. Survey results and the resulting report are confidential.
As AARP’s director of workforce issues, Russell leads a team that collects information and develops programs, technical assistance and practical research for the benefit of people older than 50. She established the Best Employers for Workers over 50 program.
Her expertise in aging workforce and employment issues has landed her on CNN, CNBC, ABC’s Good Morning America, the CBS Morning Show and CBS Evening News.
