GREENSBORO, NC-- Novelist George Singleton will read Thursday, Oct. 18, at UNCG.
The reading begins at 8 p.m. in the Faculty Center on College Avenue, and celebrates the release of Singleton’s latest novel, “Workshirts for Madmen.” The event, sponsored by the MFA Writing Program and The Greensboro Review, is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception and book signing.
Singleton has written two previous novels, “Drowning in Gruel” and “Novel,” and three collections of short stories — “Why Dogs Chase Cars,” “The Half-Mammals of Dixie” and “These People Are Us.” Nearly 70 of his stories and articles have been published in magazines and anthologies including The Atlantic, Esquire and Oxford American.
He received his MFA in Creative Writing from UNCG and lives in Pickens, S.C., with clay artist Glenda Guion and their 11 dogs and one cat.
