GREENSBORO, N.C. – Get your green on during five days celebrating Earth Week, Monday to Friday, April 21-25. The community is welcome to participate in activities ranging from a “leave no trace” camping demonstration to a roll up your sleeves clean up of Peabody Park and Buffalo Creek. All activities are free of charge.
Events include:
• April 21: Joe Hill, a builder who specializes in green building techniques, will speak about efforts to make Guilford County schools green. 6 p.m., lobby, Gatewood Building.
• April 22: Earth Day event at the Fountain featuring music, dancers, food, and vendors. Rain date is April 24.
• April 23: Green it Yourself. Four 15-minute presentations. Presentations include a bike workshop and leave no trace camping demonstration. Noon, lawn of the Foust Building.
• April 24: Film “Planet Earth.” 7 p.m., lobby, Gatewood Building.
• April 25: Peabody Park Protection Project. The public is welcome to assist in the cleanup of Peabody Park and Buffalo Creek. Wear protective clothing. 1-3 p.m. Peabody Park. Meet at the pedestrian bridge near the School of Music. The event will be take place rain or shine.
