Romeo and Juliet

"Romeo and Juliet"

GREENSBORO, NC – “Romeo and Juliet,” one of the most romantic ballets in classical repertoire, will be performed by the acclaimed St. Petersburg Ballet Theatre on Friday, May 1, as part the University Concert & Lecture Series.

The performance will be held at 7 p.m. at the Carolina Theatre on Greene Street in Greensboro due to the renovation of Aycock Auditorium.

The story of Shakespeare’s tragic, star-crossed young lovers has been the basis for some of the most beautiful ballet works for more than two centuries. Countless other performances and various versions of the theme of Romeo and Juliet have been interpreted through dance.

As performed by the 60-member company St. Petersburg Ballet Theatre, and set to an unforgettable score by Sergei Prokofiev, “Romeo and Juliet” will delight ballet aficionados of all ages.

For ticket information, call (336) 334-4849. Tickets will also be available through the University Box Office web site at www.uncg.edu/euc/boxoffice and through the Carolina Theatre box office by calling (336) 333-2605.
