- Christopher Ruhm, the Jefferson-Pilot Excellence Professor of Economics at the Bryan School, appeared on The Brian Lehrer Show aired on WNYC radio in New York City. Ruhm discussed his research on the relationship between difficult economic times and good health during a segment titlled "Bad Times: Good Health." (4-30-08)
- To beat rising gas costs, UNCG student Kyla Portell plans to sell her car and is using a bicycle to get around Greensboro, as reported by WFMY-TV (4-30-08).
- Spartan TV, the university's student-run station, hosted a debate featuring four candidates seeking the Democratic Party's nomination for US Senate. Three students - Chris Brown, Micah Beasley and Luke McIntyre - served as moderators. The event was covered by WFMY, WXII, WGHP, the Associated Press, the Raleigh News & Observer and The Rhinoceros Times (4-30-08).
- Dr. Michael Kane, associate professor of psychology, was quoted in an article about the capacity of working memory. The article by LiveScience.com appeared on the MSNBC website. (4-28-08)
- Bill Brown, associate professor and Department of Finance chair, was quoted in The Triad Business Journal about Fresh Market's hiring of Goldman Sachs. (4-25-08)
- Librarian Barry K. Miller wrote a column in tribute to the late CBS newsman and Greensboro native Edward R. Murrow, which was published in the Greensboro News & Record. (4-25-08)
- Nutrition professor Anne-Marie Scott was interviewed by WFMY News 2. Scott spoke with Kerri Hartsfield of News 2 for the segment, "School Lunch vs. Sack Lunch." (4-24-08)
- UNCG will award three honorary degrees at its May 16 commencement, including one to backetball coaching legend Kay Yow. Greensboro News & Record and WFMY-TV. (4-21-08)
- Dr. Rebecca Adams, professor of sociology, was quoted by The Washington Post in an article about social networking websites such as Facebook. It can be tricky having a single website about yourself available to co-workers, friends and family. "It's the postmodern nightmare - to have all of your selves collide," Adams told the paper. - Dr. Nicholas Williamson, an associate professor of business administration, was quoted in the Greensboro News & Record about why the dollar has been losing ground against other currencies. (4/20/08)
- Frank Donaldson, director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Broadcasting and Cinema was featured on a television segment about the future of digital TV that aired statewide. (4-19-08)

- Veteran Journalist and Pulitzer Prize-winner Gene Roberts spoke about his storied career at the Friends of the UNCG Libraries annual dinner. Greensboro News & Record (4-17-08)
- Dr. Andrew Brod, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at the Bryan School was quoted in the News and Record regarding the rising need for food stamp assistance. (4-16-08)
- "Rebuilding from Within," a front-page story in the Greensboro News & Record included a section about Gateway University Research Park, a UNCG and NC A&T partnership. The article quoted John Merrill, the research park's executive director, and Dr. Keith Debbage, a geography professor. (4-13-08)
- Geography professor Keith Debbage was quoted in a front-page story in The Winston-Salem Journal about the region's steady population growth. (4-13-08)
- The Center for Business and Economic Research found Guilford County Schools have a $1.3 billion impact on the local economy. The center's director, Dr. Andrew Brod, presented the study results to elected officials. Greensboro News & Record (4-12-08)

- Broadcasting and Cinema professor Michael Frierson's documentary, "FBI-KKK," was the subject of an article in The Chronicle of Higher Education, "The Klansman and the G-Man" (subscription required.) The film is about the relationship between Frierson's father, now a retired FBI agent, and a high-ranking member of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1960s. (4-4-08)
