GREENSBORO, NC – Poet and alumnus Dan Albergotti will read Wednesday, March 19, at UNCG.
The reading, hosted by the Center for Creative Writing in the Arts, the MFA Writing Program and The Greensboro Review, begins at 5 p.m. in the Faculty Center on College Avenue.
It is free and open to the public. A reception and book signing will follow.
Albergotti most recently authored “The Boatloads,” a collection selected by Edward Hirsch as the winner of the 2007 A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize. His poems have appeared in The Cincinnati Review, Shenandoah, The Southern Review, The Virginia Quarterly Review and other journals.
He has been a scholar at the Sewanee and Bread Loaf writers’ conferences and a fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. A graduate of the MFA program at UNCG and former poetry editor of The Greensboro Review, he currently teaches creative writing and literature courses at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C.
