GREENSBORO, N.C. –Brenda Lilly, a UNCG graduate whose writing credits include episodes of television series such as “L.A. Law,” and who created and produced the acclaimed series “State of Grace,” will speak on Wednesday, Feb. 20.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 4 p.m. in Room 130, Moore Building.

Lilly’s extensive television writing and editing credits include “Xena: Warrior Princess,” “Christy, Choices of the Heart,” and “Summerland.” As an actor she has appeared on “Murphy Brown” and “On Our Way.”

Lilly has developed both a series and a television movie for the Oxygen Network and has a feature film, "American Soccer Mom," in development with Basra Entertainment.

In 2006, Lilly was executive producer for the play “Elephant Sighs” in conjunction with Greensboro’s Broach Theatre for the Stoneleaf Festival in Asheville.

Lilly is a member of the Dramatists Guild, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the Writers Guild of America, west. She earned a BFA in theatre from UNCG in 1974.

The discussion is part of the Building Entrepreneurial Learning for Life (BELL) Forum Series which is sponsored during the spring semester by the Entrepreneurial Innovation in the Arts (EIA) program. BELL, a university-wide initiative aimed at weaving entrepreneurship into the fabric of the campus, was initiated in 2007.

The event is sponsored by EIA and the Carolina Film and Video Festival.

BELL is a major piece of UNCG’s Economic Development Initiative. It is the cornerstone of UNCG’s response to the priorities and strategic directions that the UNC Board of Governors has set for the university system in promoting economic development for the state. The approach encompasses business, academic, civic, cultural and social pursuits.
