Washington Financial Strategist to Lecture Jan. 17

GREENSBORO, NC – Gregory Valliere, an expert on how Congress and the White House shape fiscal policies, will speak on Thursday, Jan. 17, at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Valliere is senior vice president and chief strategist for Policy Research for Stanford Group Company. Stanford Group Company is a member of the Stanford Financial Group, a global network of financial services companies.

Valliere will deliver the Kathleen Price Bryan Visiting Professor of Financial Affairs lecture titled “The Outlook for Taxes, Interest Rates and the 2008 Election.” It will be held at 4 p.m. in Room 160 of the Bryan School of Business and Economics. The event, which is sponsored by the Bryan School and Stanford Group, is free and open to the public.

Valliere, who is responsible for coverage of the Federal Reserve Board’s interest rate policies, has been covering economic and political developments in Washington for institutional investors for three decades. He is a former Chief Congressional Correspondent for the Washington Post and a regular guest on CNN’s “Moneyline” and CNBC’s “Market Wrap.” He earned a degree in journalism from George Washington University.
