GREENSBORO, NC – Julia Y. Edwards and Sara Ruth Geffert present their MFA dance concert, “under her breath,” at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5, in the UNCG Dance Theater.
Tickets – $12 for general admission, $9 for seniors and children, and $6 for UNCG students – can be reserved through the UNCG Box Office, (336) 334-4849. The Dance Theater is located on Walker Avenue at Kenilworth Street.
In this collaborative thesis, Edwards and Geffert explore the process of developing new works through co-choreographing a dance, remixing pre-existing works, and collaborating with artists outside the dance world.
Edwards and Geffert will premiere five new works that examine loss, work, family, isolation and group dynamics. The concert utilizes a wide range of music including classical, Tom Waits and digitally manipulated sound scores.
