Alumni Association Elects New Officers

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Jeffrey Colbert, a faculty member in the political science department at UNCG, has been elected president of the UNCG Alumni Association. Colbert, who graduated in 1984 with a degree in political science and earned a master of public affairs in 1986, is only the second male president in the history of the Alumni Association.

Colbert was elected during UNCG’s annual Reunion held May 2-3. Betsy Erivn, '50, is the immediate past president.

Other new officers, who will serve year-long terms, include:
• Jana Wagenseller, ’76, of Durham; president elect
• Daniel Todd “J.J.” McEachern, ’00, ’02 MEd, of Charlotte; vice-president
• Myra McIver, ’00, of Charlotte; secretary
• Judy Garner, ’71, of Trinity; treasurer

New members of the board of directors are:
• Erica Chambers, ’00, of Burlington
• Herb Everett, ’00, of Greensboro
• Marie Harrill, ’60, of Winston-Salem
• David Jobe, ’87, of Greensboro
• Sharron Kurtz, ’89, of Whitsett
• Megan Metzger, ’05, Winston-Salem
• Sue Weant, ’59, of Lexington, KY
• Tomika Williams, ’03 MSN, of Greensboro

To honor Chancellor Patricia A. Sullivan who will retire July 31 after 13 years, the Alumni Association will plant a dogwood tree on the campus later this year.
