GREENSBORO, NC – A chef from Santiago, Chile, will visit UNCG as part of the 14th annual International Guest Chef Exchange.
Chef Vittorio Torricelli will create a special dinner in The Caf on Monday, Oct. 13, to showcase the flavors of his home country. He also will be available during lunch in Spencer’s on Tuesday, Oct. 14, to meet with faculty, staff and students.
“I’m very interested in traditional Chilean food,” Torricelli said. “I’m in a research process about Chilean roots to show them to the world.”
Torricelli has earned several medals in Chilean culinary competitions, and has prepared meals for many politicians and government officials. He is a member of the international chefs association, Les Toques Blanches.
The prestigious Guest Chef Exchange allows outstanding chefs to work two weeks in other countries to share tips, tastes and talents. Only 25 chefs were selected to participate in the program this year.
