Elections Lecture Series Begins Sept. 24

GREENSBORO, NC – The Department of Political Science and The Center for Legislative Studies will kick off their fall lecture series Wednesday, Sept. 24, with a panel discussion titled “North Carolina Elections 2008: Change or Continuity?”


Panelists will include Rob Christensen of the Raleigh News & Observer and Dr. Thad Beyle of UNC-Chapel Hill. Dr. Thomas Little of UNCG will serve as moderator.


Two additional lectures will take place over the fall semester:
• Dr. Patrick Sellers of Davidson College will speak Wednesday, Oct. 29, on “Congressional Elections 2008: Another Democratic Wave?”
• Dr. Alan Abramowitz of Emory University will speak Wednesday, Nov. 19, on “The Presidential Election 2008: What Happened and Why?”


All lectures will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Weatherspoon Art Gallery Auditorium and a reception will follow. All are free and open to the public.
