GREENSBORO, NC – The African American Studies program will offer “Conversations with the Community” the second Tuesday of each month, beginning Sept. 9.
The “Conversations” series provides members of the Greensboro and UNCG community an opportunity to converse with faculty and students about contemporary issues impacting people of African descent. Topics may be political, cultural, literary, religious and/or philosophical.
All discussions will begin at 6 p.m. in the Faculty Center on College Avenue.
The series launches Tuesday, Sept. 9, when Dr. William Hart, professor of religion, discusses his new book, “Black Religion: Malcolm X, Julius Lester and Jan Willis.”
On Tuesday, Oct. 7, Dr. SallyAnn Ferguson, professor of English, will discuss her new book, “Nineteenth-Century Black Women's Literary Emergence: Evolutionary Spirituality, Sexuality and Identity.”
