Linda Carter
GREENSBORO, NC – Linda Carter has been named assistant vice chancellor of alumni relations and executive director of the Alumni Association.
The appointment, effective Sept. 15, 2008, was announced by Dr. Patricia W. Stewart, vice chancellor for university advancement.
"Linda brings both breadth and depth of knowledge and experience as she enters her new role as leader of UNCG’s alumni relations,” said Stewart. “She is passionate about connecting our alumni to their prestigious alma mater in exciting and meaningful ways."
"My service to UNCG and the School of Nursing during the past seven years has been the highlight of my university advancement career,” said Carter. “I now look forward to serving the university in this new role and partnering with our alumni to further elevate this exceptional institution to new heights."
Carter has more than 20 years of experience in alumni relations at academic institutions. Since 2001, she has served as director of development for the UNCG School of Nursing. Prior to coming to UNCG, Carter worked in benefactor relations at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She has also worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as director of Alumni Relations for the Sloan School of Management and as assistant director of alumni relations for The Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago.
Carter holds a bachelor of music and a bachelor of arts, both from Meredith College in Raleigh, and a master of church music from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. She served as volunteer chair of the CapTrust Ricky Proehl NFL Charity Golf Classic for Children from 2001-2004.
