Classical Indian Music Concert to be Held Sept. 19

GREENSBORO, NC – A concert featuring two rising stars of Indian classical music will be held on Friday, Sept. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the School of Music.

The event features singer Hemant Pendse and Harshad Kanetkar, a versatile accompanist and soloist on tabla. Vidyadhar Kulkarni will play the harmonium.

The tabla is a percussion instrument used in the classical, popular and religious music of India.

The concert is sponsored by the UNCG School of Music, the UNCG Asian Studies Program and the Indian Association of the Triad.
