GREENSBORO, NC – A training session on animal-assisted therapy will be held 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Oct. 25 at the North Campus of Gateway University Research Park. Animal therapy uses animals such as dogs, cats and rabbits to visit hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers and schools.
This Pet Partners training is for handlers, not pets, with no prior experience required. Participants must be at least 10 years old and accompanied by a parent or guardian if younger than 17. The cost is $75 for adults and $50 for all students.
The registration form is available at www.uncg.edu/rth/PetPartnersTrainingOct25.pdf. At least 10 people must register by Oct. 11, two weeks before the training date, or the session may be cancelled. The North Campus of the research park is located near Bryan Park at 5900 Summit Ave., Browns Summit.
