GREENSBORO, N.C. – The C-SPAN Civics Bus will visit UNCG Friday, Feb. 13, as part of its “100 Days, 100 Schools” tour.
The bus, sporting a redesigned exterior, will stop at UNCG from 1-3 p.m. Students, faculty, school teachers and other visitors can tour the 45-foot mobile production studio and demonstration center in front of Elliott University Center off Sterling Street.
“She’s got a new outfit and she loves going places,” says Jeremy Art, a C-SPAN marketing representative who travels with the bus.
The bus is travelling to Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon and Washington state on its 100 day tour, marking the first 100 days of President Obama’s administration.
C-SPAN launched its bus program in 1993 as a way to bring the world of public affairs into schools and communities nationwide. Step aboard to learn about the many resources C-SPAN offers, including the network’s education website, C-SPAN Classroom a free membership service for educators with downloadable video clips; the C-SPAN Video library and C-SPAN’s television coverage of the new administration.
C-SPAN, celebrating 30 years as America’s political network, was created by America’s cable companies as a public service in 1979. C-SPAN programs three public affairs television networks; C-SPAN Radio, a Washington, D.C., radio station distributed nationally by XM Satellite Radio; and a video-rich website.
