GREENSBORO, N.C. — Student Health Services has confirmed a case of H1N1 flu in a UNCG
student.
The student and the student’s immediate contacts have been treated at Student Health Services. The student has been isolated at her home, which is an off-campus residence.
The student is enrolled in summer session and attended class on Wednesday, June 3, and Thursday, June 4. The professor has been notified. Any student exhibiting flu-like symptoms is urged to report immediately to Student Health Services. If Student Health Services is closed, please visit the emergency room at Moses Cone Hospital.
Members of the University's Emergency Preparedness and Response Team (EPART) have been notified and, along with Student Health Services, continue to monitor the situation. In addition, Student Health Services is coordinating with the Guilford County Health Department.
Information regarding this virus continues to be available on the UNCG home page or the Student Health Services web site. Additional information can be found at www.guilfordhealth.org, www.ncpublichealth.com or www.cdc.gov.
Please review this information and continue to practice good personal hygiene such as
thorough hand washing with warm water and soap or alcohol-based hand
sanitizers, covering coughs and sneezes with a disposable tissue or by
coughing or sneezing into a bended elbow or sleeve, and to practice
responsible social distancing by staying home and away from others if you
become ill.
The university will continue to monitor this situation and will provide updates as more
