GREENSBORO, NC – The Spartones, UNCG's male a cappella vocal group, have advanced to the regional semifinals in the Varsity Vocals International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA).
Hear the Spartones and other semi-finalists from across the South Saturday, March 14, when UNCG hosts the semi-finals competition. Competition begins at 7 p.m. in UNCG’s Aycock Auditorium.

Other groups competing in the southern region semi-finals are: The AcaBelles and Reverb from Florida State University, the Accidentals and Noteworthy from the University of Georgia, Another Level from Appalachian State University and the Philharmonics of Rice University.
The ICCA provides top-notch college a cappella groups with valuable feedback from highly qualified judges. The tournament takes place from January through April each year in six regions: West, Midwest, South, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and Euro.
Semi-final winners advance to the finals, held at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. Finals begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 18.
The Spartones have opened for musician Ben Folds. Their latest CD is called “Not the Same.”
