GREENSBORO, NC — Dr. Silvia Koller, internationally known for her research on the well-being of children and youth in Brazil, will speak April 7 in the Nussbaum Room of the Greensboro Public Library’s Central Branch, 219 N. Church Street.
Her 5 p.m. lecture – “Violence within Families and Communities: From Precursors to Prevention” – is sponsored by the UNCG School of Human Environmental Sciences and the university’s Child and Family Research Network (CFRN).
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
Koller is chair of the Center for Psychological Studies on At-Risk Children, Youth, and Families in the Department of Psychology at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil.
She will be visiting UNCG as part of the International Visiting Scholar program sponsored by the School of Human Environmental Sciences. Her work has been funded by groups including the Kellogg Foundation, the World Childhood Foundation and the World Bank.
